The central idea of my second memoir Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother By: Amy Chua, is parenting. The main character Amy is trying to raise her two kids, Sophia and Lulu, the traditional Chinese way. Even though she and her husband Jed were both born in America they believe that the chinese way of parenting that incorporates rigorous piano and violin lessons along with frequent (Hours a day of) studying of mathematics to prepare their children for the future.
Amy is struggling to raise her two kids the chinese way in America and I think that society can relate because there is no perfect way to parent and it always makes headlines one way or another.
